Clear skies, friendly faces, and iconic rock formations - the Barkly region is the explorer's dream. The region covers an area of 322, 713 square kilometres along the Stuart Highway between Alice Springs and Darwin and is home to 7,400 people. Tennant Creek is the remote centre for the region and provides access to all the standard small country town amenities - a supermarket, health clinic, airport, cafes, pubs and motor inns. The Barkly region hosts many events throughout the year, focused on arts and music, campdrafting, rodeos and family friendly bush races.
