Katherine and surrounds also known as the Big Rivers region, extends from the Western Australian border to the Gulf of Carpentaria and along the Queensland border. The region has beautiful rivers, thermal springs, stunning landscapes and great camping and fishing spots.
It's also home to 23 Aboriginal communities, 110 family outstations, 105 pastoral properties and six villages. At the heart of the region is Katherine, the Northern Territory's fourth-largest town with over 11,000 of the region's 21,000 residents.
