Originally from Nepal, Sapana has found more than just a job in the Northern Territory—she’s found a home, a community, and a career she’s deeply passionate about.

“Sharing culture is one of my favourite parts of teaching in the Territory. During mat time, I love sharing stories from Nepal and hearing my students share theirs—it’s always exciting and engaging.”

After four years of teaching in Nepal, Sapana made the move to Darwin to complete her Master of Teaching in Early Childhood and Primary. Since then, she’s flourished. Through the Accelerated Teachers Classroom Program, Sapana began at Moulden as a student teacher and is now confidently leading her own class.

With a love for maths, strong mentorship, and a supportive school culture, she’s found her place. “Maths is about mindset—and I love making it fun and meaningful for my students.”

Outside the classroom? “Life in the Top End is relaxed. The tropical weather, friendly community, and stunning nature make it easy to feel connected.”
